Full-Time Childcare Program Overview
Smarties Academy offers childcare on a year-round basis. Our learning center is a group learning environment for children ages six weeks to five years of age. At Smarties, we strive to create an environment that is engaging and helps each individual child reach their developmental milestones through age-appropriate curriculum and activities.
Our schedule changes as children enter school age.
- Limited closings. We are closed major National Holidays, the week of the 4th of July, and the last week in December.
- Daily hours. Our daily hours run from 7:30 am through 6 pm for all core learning and enrichment activities: yoga, mindfulness, drama, art, cooking, STEM, music and movement, fitness, outside play, and more. Activities vary throughout the day.
The childcare we provide is designed to prepare children for Kindergarten.
Kindergarten Schedule
The academic year runs for ten months, from August 2, 2021 through May 27, 2022 with a Holiday Break in December and Spring Break in April.
Our daily hours run from 8:00 am through 4:30 pm.
For children, who are Kindergarten-aged, the commitment would be for the entire school year (August 2021-May 2022) and optional camp weeks will be available in the summer.
After School Program in Decatur
The program is cancelled for 2021-2022. We hope to resume the program in Fall 2022.

Smarties Teachers are native Spanish speakers and most are from various Latin-American countries. We also have families from various ethnic backgrounds.
